Here's this week's mailbag, with co-answer person Skulryk!

Well, sence everyone at Starmen.net is talking about NP SiegeII, I might as well too. I truly belive that nintendo couldn't see something awsome and revolutionary if it was starring them in the face. I mean, what where they thinking when they made the N64 a CARTRIGE system?? Everyone knows that cartrges are outdated, expensive and small memory wise. People tried to stop and argue that the N64 is alot more powerfull than the Play Station, but just look at Majorias Mask and Resident Evil. Majorias Mask, the new 64 game has grafics that are so well...... horrible that it puts first generation playstaion games to shame! And the idea of the moon falling on the planet? Really! If Link where any sort of true hero, he would just take all that nice magic power he has and blow the moon away! Not to mention that the actuall game play is pretty bland, you can always figure whats going to happen or a dugon is so difficult that you just about grab the system and chuck it in some large bodie of water. Resident Evil, though flawed, everything has to start somewhere and well..... Even though the game was very difficult, the story was always making twists and the graphics beat MM(Majorias Mask) into the ground and MM is a last generation game for the 64! Thats another thing, the life span of the 64, the thing is a child and allready they are abandoning it! PlayStation has hit it's prime and now the market demands something new. In fact, right now the PS2 is taking on the PS's legacy and making it into something even greater. My Grandma was estatic when she found out she didn't have to go out and buy new games right away.

In closing, I have lost all hope and trust in Nintendo to do anything great.Anything new or revolutionary. I think I'll buy an X-box.

I too think that Nintendo's biggest mistake was the failure to switch from cartridges. In fact,I was just talking to another kid in my hall about it. As spaanoft is quick to point out, cartridges are a blessiing when it comes to loading time and other technical stuff. Game producers, though, looked right past it and the 6 dollar cut they'd take per game and decided to jump to Playstation. Speaking of Playstation, I don't mean to bash or anything, but the PS2 is just boring. It's like all they did was upgrade the existing playstation. Nothing new, just better graphics. Whoopedy doo.

Bah... I'm not getting into system wars or anything, but I'd like to see Mother 3 on Gamecube. It's the least Nintendo can give us. I think Nintendo made a flop with the Nintendo 64 by not relying on 3rd parties enough though. However, I think Nintendo has learned. Now all we need is Mother 3.

Hey kids! My name is Glenn and I've been playing EarthBound since I was in 7th grade...(like four years?) pretty sad, huh? Yeah well, NO, it's my favorite game. I'm so obsessed in fact that I bought Mother 2 for SFC. Yeah I know, a lot of you guys have it, but hey... do you have the original MOTHER? Heh, I do! And I must say, some levels are completely different from EarthBound Zero. Actually, I bought both from ebay from Kenji Yanase (ken!!). He even sent me copies of the MOTHER booklet and big color copies of some MOTHER maps from some of those guide-book-shpiels. That guy rocks! Besides, I paid 65 bucks for MOTHER anyway. Whoa I like to ramble, don't I? Sheez... Anyway, I don't speak Japanese, but I kept a log of the names of items and what they do. Very tedious. I definitely suggest you kids go out and find a copy of MOTHER! And while you're at it, buy a Super 8 for your SNES. It'll play SNES, SFC, NES and Famicom games, all on your super nintendo! That's what I use to play MOTHER. It's a nifty little deal. Kay, I'll shut up now.

I think I'm gonna ask my parents for Mother 2 for my birthday. I've been meaning to get it off of EBay, but other stuff seems to keep popping up. Go figure.

I was going to talk about my "smash hit" EarthBound(the song), and then get on topic, but then get on topic. But then I saw there was no topic, and jumped for joy! Actually, I went downstairs and begged my mom for M&M's, but that's beside the point. The point is that I can ramble on forever. Or not. Or start talking sense. Or both. Anyways, I am honored. I have recieved praise both in #starmen and in this mailbag about that song, which I regard as a peice of crap. Really. I'm imbarresed. I felt stupid when I finally made it. But it was worth it! I also made two poems, both before I got EarthBound, so they don't make much sence, and tried to make a parody of Simon & Garfunkel's "Homeward Bound" called "Dalaam Bound", but it was never submitted, and I lost the file. I also had some entries into the AoE, but none of them won. Dang. Anyways, remember this simple phrase: "Give me $500 or give me Transformers: Rebirth on video!" Preferably the latter.

How very odd... I missed last week's mailbox. Or my letter wasn't very good. I dunno. Anyhow, you're all wrong! The best music in the entire freakin' game is the Brickroad theme! Now I can tell what you're thinking. You think that I mean the music inside Dungeon Man. But that's not it, although that song is pretty cool too. Nope, I'm talking about the music when Dungeon Man agrees to accompany you, and you walk towards the palm trees. Until Dungeon Man gets stuck, there's this fantastic hip-hop jam that plays! I always suspected Giygas might play guitar, but Brickroad a DJ? Who'd have thought!

So in conclusion, you're all wrong and I'm right. Yes, I'm talking to you.

I noticed something just a bit impossible in the EGM Mother 2 preview under EarthBound publications. It shows the gang walking toward their next victim: Master Belch. The problem: Poo is with them.What's up with that? As we all know, it's impossible to have Poo at that point in the game without some enhancing device. So, what's the story? We're all dying to know. Well, I am at least.

That picture was taken before the game was complete. It's commonplace for screenshots to be given out with impossible game events. I've seen Grandia2 pictures with characters that shouldn't be in your party, and a movie of someone controlling Slash in TMNT 5: Turtles in Time. You could also get these kinds of things through the debug menu.

Maybe EGM used edited pictures... well, the opening scenes to Earthbound (as well as some of the box art) show a couple of impossible scenes, like Ness on Giant Step at night, and... that's all I can think of right now.

This has been bothering me for the longest time... I sit here and think about what a Mr. Saturn sounds like. However, it's like the voice that I imagine just doesn't fit the character. Anyway, what do you think they sound like?

Mr. Saturn's have no mouth and therefore cannot talk. They communicate through armpit noises.

Wacky-kind of insane like. I haven't heard any voices people use to match up with what I think, but I think it's all in your imagination... That's the point of it!

You see, I've been having problems with my cat. She bites my feet and sometimes it seems that she is stalking me. She hates all my friends and gets ticked off pretty quick. I also have reason to beleive that she is possessed. Her eyes glow and she makes this awful noise. I can't even describe it. It starts off like a meow but it always seems to end with this really low growl and then she jumps at me and tries to bite my neck. I wake up with bite marks all over my arms that I didn't have when I fell asleep the night before. Please, tell me what to do about this before she really does finish me off.
