Just finished reading Mailbag #43. I don't know why I always forget to read these things, but I'm now trying to finally get caught up. (Thank goodness diospradre's updates are timed so well. How thoughtful of him to space them out like this so people can have a chance to properly appreciate the Mailbag in all its recherce excellence. :P)
So far, I've been both surprised and impressed with the level of wisdom y'all demonstrate in the cogency and erudition of your replies. On the other hand, with many of them I'd be compelled to say, "...What the hey is this?" It seems like there's a 32/128 chance of getting a dios/co-answer person team that's hopped up on blueberry muffins. (And who came up with the idea of the Stupid Box? As if the local mouth-breathers weren't getting enough encouragement already... :/)
What immediately attracted my attention about the last mailbatch (meaning 43, if you were dozing off at the beginning of this letter) was the letter Cliff Spradlin got from Keiichi Suzuki! That's, like, the most incredibly awesome thing ever, and yet dios and YMM were strangely indifferent. I sensed some underlying confusion behind their totally inadequate response, so I'll try to set a couple things straight.
Suzuki-san was ostensibly plugging the MOONRIDERS feat.MAA site at http://moonriders.maa.gr.jp/ , and its free copies of "Pissin' till I die" and "Pissism" (their titles, not mine ::). You can find them in bazillions of different formats on the "Piss to the digital airground" download page (gotta love that wacky beatnik Japlish). 'sCool 'cause it's guaranteed that there'll be something for everyone. The songs are pretty good and show off MR's characteristic weirdness and energy -- the first begins with sort of a bluegrass/pop/hip-hop/rock thing and goes all over the place from there (rap/enka/soul/disco? :!), and the other is mostly Latin, somewhat Westernish, and utterly indescribable. It's really something you have to experience yourself. Your impression may be entirely different if you understand Japanese -- I got the feeling that tons of stuff was going over my head (but I liked 'em anyway).
Once you're done listening, remember to fill out the comment form at the bottom of the page. I would have done it myself, but not being able to tell the difference between (say) the 'MOONRIDERS suck' and the 'MOONRIDERS rule' button kinda hampers things. If anyone needs a bag of groundhogite... :S On to MB44, then.

I thank you for your praise, and would like to reaffirm that the stupid box was created by me. Well, kinda. Back in the day EBounding had a "And now for something completely different box," but mine is just dumber.
As for the rest of your letter, we were VERY excited to have received word from Suzuki. The thing is I and other SM.net staffers got that e-mail about a week before I put it in the mailbag, so most of the people that frequent #starmen already knew about it. The excitement had died down and the new 'in' thing was the "push the pissin online" quote (try to kick me from here, Buddy!)

ey? You know what they always say Mailbag a week, keeps Tomato from beating you up and eating you alive. ( I don't do rhymes) As for the Suzuki e-mail, Suzuki is a cool guy. I love his music, especially Ness' theme.
