This week's mailbag topic:

Shocking things in EarthBound.

Really neat mailbag this week. The most letters I have ever seen! Thanks guys I appreciate it. This week we all get to see what shocked us the most in EarthBound.

From Across the Pacific

I'm Japanese. Though I have an E-Mail adress in Canada. I haven't even been to foreign country.

I gained access to this page for the first time. And I was shocked, and preased! I didn't expect there was such a lot of people who likes "Mother"series in the world!!

My another "shock of Earth-Bound " is the dicision that they don't release Mother3. I was so disappointed. I only like Mother(not Mother2) though, I was glad that Mother was living.

My hope is the novelization of it. Itoi shigesato said he wanted to publish it, even if he had to publish it privately. If he or they publish it, I can read it much faster than you!!

First, I need to make clear that that wasn't Tomato running some text through a Japanese to English translator again. :) We like the Japanese fellows that like Mother. They give us information that we would probably never hear otherwise. Plus they can read faster than anyone.

Startling Revelation

You can move around while teleporting? I have had this game for 6 years, and I never knew that. I love you. You are now like a brother to me.

See? Lot's of people don't know that! Ok, maybe only two right now, but that's okay.

The Jamming Stone

This imay sound stupid but, I was playing Earthbound and I thought what happend to the sound stone if you used it. And I found out you can listen to it!

That wasn't quite shocking for me, but it was neat to see it do that. I was rocking all night long to the tunes....what?

Strange Discovery

About a week ago when my friend Sylas came over my house and we played E.B., I realized that hitting the bash button was the same thing as actually going into your items and choosing the weapon during battle! I had always thought they did different amounts of damage, and I've had the game since 1995! That's what shocked me. I felt like such an idiot :P

I'd simply be too lazy to do that. It's simply pound the L button for me.

Item Help

I was pretty shocked on my 4th time playing through the game when I accidently looked at the help menu when I was trying to drop an item. Of all my times playing Earthbound, it took me 5 years to figure out that all the expensive foods, items etc. had some pretty hilarious descriptions.

My favorite HELP description is for...I can't think of it right now. PEOPLE, mail me hilarious Item descriptions. OK?

Scary Stuff

I was really shocked when I found out you had to use the telephone to save. I was even more shocked when I found out about withdraing money from the atm, but the thing that shocked me the most was Saturn Valley. I just left the cave with the roaches and I started walking towards the city, when all of a sudden, here is this... this... THING with a huge nose! I was so shocked I nearly went back the way I came!

GameHero

I was more frightened than shocked when I first saw Mr. Saturn. I thought he was an enemy. So I ducked and made sure I had everything equipped and ready. All that for in order to get greeted with a "BoINg!".

The Fat Gopher

i was shocked when i saw that pokey was giygas' ally!i mean who would of tought that that little porkey kid would end up being giygas' second hand!

Pokey's simply a fat smelly gopher for Giygas. The great thing about EarthBound is that we all have come across some "Pokey's" in our lives.

Moonside was quite possibly the weirdest thing I've ever seen in any game. I'd read about it in the player's guide, but the minute I actually got there, my eyes were popping out of my head and almost caused the growth of a large ... um... growth. Almost. Actually, just about everything surprised me, but that was the major thing.

Moonside is the result of a "caffiene buzz". Yeah that's it.

Super EarthBound?

I read somewhere about "Super Earthbound for GameCube. It had pictures of Mother 3. Is this really it? Just not for N64, but, GameCube?

Just taking a break from the freaky stuff in EB for a second. Some EB fansites are "reporting" this information, but as of right now, there is not going to be a sequel. Hopefully that's going to change though. But I've never heard ANY reliable gaming source report that the name would be "Super EarthBound".

Evil Hotel

I think I speak for everybody when I say I was most shocked at the Threed Hotel. It's a family game for heaven's sake!

I know! That was horrible! ZOMBIES AND GHOSTS! What were they thinking?! The kids are tainted for life now.
