Mailbag for Monday, August 20th 2001

this week's mailbag topic:

EB Community roles, and stuff.

This week's topic is about people's role in the EB community, and how long they've been in it and stuff. This week's co-responder, is links maintainer, ROFISH. We will both give you very precise and deep responses.

Missing Music

Hey what happened to all of your MP3 music? cause all i find here are songs no real music that u guys used to have!

The webspace demon who beckons from the depths arose and gave us a stern, violent warning: "THOU ART USING TOO MUCH SPACE! THOU WHILST DIE NOW". And we were forced to submit and remove them. Maybe we can put a few back on for something, since we have more space now. ROFISH has a much friendlier version of what happened though.

- EBounding

The webspace fairy came and bid us a greeting.

Bad topic, Worse Responses

I'm one of the pathetic fools who latched on after IGN64 cancelled... er... anounced EarthBound 64 had been cancelled. To compensate for my stupidity, I haven't really done much... I've tried my hand at trivia a couple times and the only time I got involved in the Forum was when the EBFGPS01 script went loco. Hmm... is it the topic that's lame, or is it my letter...

Both.

- EBounding

Both.

Heavy Letter

EBounding r silly.

Anyways I'm kind of falling from the site (More precisely, the internet.) slowly, I don't know, I'm just lazy. Someone told me I have depression or something, and if you think that's funny, it actually kind of is since it's really weird.

Oh yeah, the topic, I've been here about maybe... Since some year in November or January, before Buzz Buzz striked back. Lots of laughs, lots of heart, lots of scandals... (Including my old forum topic, it still lives by the way.)

Oh well, may the force be with you and stuff. If I do happen to break away (Yay to the regulars!) then I hope you all get bigger and better. No I don't mean gain weight, make Starmen.Net cooler than before.

I christen thee, a cool site... No, THE cool site.

-NickCaz

Well, have fun doing...whatever it is you do. :) Freaky magic scared me though...

- EBounding

I know that if some people leave we would be a few tons lighter.

Names in Mailbag

I have been in the community for about 3, perhaps 4 years. A ton has been spent idle, my first year mostly submitting futilely to EASY trivia...then I decided to become active in the Message board, where I had a streak of the disease of LAMER. I finally realized the error of my ways, and went back to only submitting to trivia and the mailbag...perhaps one day I shall go back...-Mr. Bound

...
PS: Have you noticed that, whole Dios was a somewhat lazy mailbag host, he did put people's names in the submissions? just thought you might not have noticed.

I put names in if people put them in the MESSAGE of the Submit-thingy. The reason it asks for your name is SUPER SECRET. So just put it in the message...like you did. ROFISH's explanation is only a half truth.

- EBounding

EBounding decided not to put names on mailbag because he was threatened by someguys and their assult knifes.

SSB:M Characters

Will there be any other Earthbound characters in Super Smash Brothers Melee other than Ness? If so, Who are they?

Mr. Saturn, possibly Poo (he looks like a trophy though), and LUIGI! Luigi was in EarthBound if you use your imagination.

- EBounding

The Onett Bakery and the Monotoli Building are some characters that I've heard of

#EB New Year's Rave

Let's see...I first found EarthBound.Net in January 2000, but I didn't actually join the forums until September 2000 (after it became Starmen.Net). I used to get into a lot of arguments with the community back then over reasons I won't mention, but overall I think I've had a good time since I've joined. I think the most memorable moment was #earthbound on New Year's Eve, when the ops suddenly said "Ok, no rules just for tonight!". There must've been a hundred people in there going wild and doing whatever they wanted, and I got banned for a little bit for threatening to rat all the staffers out to reidman (who wasn't there at the time, and would've gotten really mad if he was), heheh. It was all good fun though.
--Chrispy

Sort of like the time we made #smnet into a Nitrous Oxide tent. Hoo Hoo Hoo!...wild times.

- EBounding

Funny how there are rules when there are no rules.

The Biggest Mystery

I want to know if any of you have figured out how Pokey got through deep darkness without the hawk eye yet? I think that he just followed his piggy nose to the scent of tenda and thats how he did it but if you have a better idea....

Pokey uses...I don't know..something. But helicopter did crash. It was probably because he couldn't see. And he was halfway there!

- EBounding

I'm sorry, but the following infomation is classified, please try next door in the classified ads section.

HA HA HA HA HA HA

I have been in the EB commnity 6 Months. Hey, stop laughing! I didn't know about this site until then. I LOVED EarthBound and thought I was alone until I saw this place. Now I am obsesd with EarthBound AGAIN!!! *sinister music* Oh and EB 0 is pretty cool. Im play ing that alot.

- Salookanana

You're obeese with EarthBound? If you want a diet, play BAD DUDES. You'll hate EVERYTHING when you finish.

- EBounding

Your not alone, check your closet to find some strange rambing thing sometime.

- ROFISH

Memory Lane

Let's see, things I remember... there was the whole MS.net disaster. Before that I recall when EB.net was taken away. However, I can not remember what month (or year for that matter) I joined the community... I think it was February of '99 (but I'm not positive).

Is that light airy memory type music I hear playing...oh, it's just the Weather Channel.

- EBounding

Ginko helps you remember things.

Total 64

I was going through my junk, and i came across a magazine from January of 1998 issue of Total64, which was/is a N64 magazine from the UK. I didn't know why in gods name i had it, but i flipped through it and came across Mother 3 info. Turns out this sucker was originally the 64DD (the N64 Disk Drive; think of the Famicom Disk Drive released for the NES in Japan.) launch title. Of course, the 64DD only launched in Japan for only a few select people and never took off, not to mention making it to the states. There's some pretty weird info that may give you a laugh. There was a 64DD ability that kept time while the 64 was off, so basically, if you plant something in the game that takes 5 days to grow, the game will automatically count the minutes in real time even when the game is off. It also says the game will be available in Japan on the 64DD in March 1998, and in the US with the release of the DD in Autumn 1998. And they kept saying how realistic the game is and how great the graphics are. Donkey King 64 was better than this and it didn't need the disk drive ;D. Anyway, see scans:

Yeah they had some pretty wild and crazy plans for EB64. Hopefully they'll get their heads on straight and actually go through the entire project, if they ever attempt it again.

- EBounding

EB64 was moved to a really big cartridge. But they desided to cancel it because they realized that the cartridge wouldn't fit in the console.
