Character Profiles

Ness: The Unlikely Protector of the Earth

Ness is 13, and soon to become 14. His father always seems to be away on business trips, and his mom is always home. King, his dog, is loyal...when it's convenient. Otherwise, he'll sit there letting the fleas suck him dry or just sleep. His younger sister has a job, but is otherwise your normal, boring sister. Ness's house could't be less interesting, and his family couldn't be more like the average American family, but I guess that is what makes him the Unlikely Protector of the Earth.

Strengths

Ness is the greatest asset to the group. It seems when everyone else has died, he can keep on trucking until the fight is over with. His great all-around PSI offense and defense abilities ensure that you won't have a bunch of weak, nearly unconscious fighters following you into the next battle. His PSI Lifeup powers are also the most advanced of anyone in the groups.

Weaknesses

Ness has one of the most obvious (and most annoying) weaknesses of the group. He's a mama's boy, and gets homesick easily. A call to mom should remedy this. The other problem is that although he has great healing PSI powers ( defensive ), his shield capabilities take a long time to develop.

All Around

Ness is the leader of the group. This is partly because he is the best fighter (because of his great mix of offense and defense PSI powers), and partly because the mission would never had taken place if he had not set out in the first place. His lifeup PSI powers are enough to keep your group from having to turn back and find a hospital (something that becomes REALLY annoying when you're far from any places). His offense PSI powers can knock out even the most heavily armored foes. And, with all his hit and PSI points, you can actually use his powers!

Paula: Possessor of Psychic Powers

Paula is also 13, and has a life much less normal than Ness's. First off, everyone knows that she is psychic. She's almost famous for it, and her dad has to ward off the TV reporters. Her mom runs a preschool in the house. One of the kids in preschool is obviously the next Einstein, while all the others always want to be around Paula, or be juuuuust like her. She's been kidnapped and used psychic powers to call for help. Another thing: how many people can you think of that always have a cat on their rooftop? Plain Jane she ain't.

Strengths

Paula, as her title suggests (Possessor of Psychic Powers), holds all the most useful (not neccessarily the most powerful) psychic powers of the group. She does have a lot of kick to her Freeze and Fire PSI attacks (she is the only one who can use Fire...She also learns PSI Freeze quicker than Poo). What makes Paula really useful is her ability to use the following:

Weaknesses

Paula's main weakness is that she never has enough hit points to last through a long battle without being knocked unconscious, or survive without continually replenishing her hit points. This, added to the fact that her physical offense isn't usually enough to finish off a foe, makes her a weak fighter (in the physical sense).

All Around

If Paula were a basketball player, she would definitely play defense. Her PSI powers can be a kick in the teeth to enemies, but her defensive powers are much more impressive. Her lack of hit points is partially made up for by her abundance of PSI points. Another thing that makes Paula indispensible: the Pray command. Paula is the only one who has the option of praying. Without Paula, you couldn't pray for strength to defeat Giygas, and would be destroyed (whoa....that would suck).

Jeff: Mechanical Genius of the Team

Jeff's life is somewhat depressing. The poor kid has a dysfunctional family, as his dad has only seen him a few times, and he apparently lost his mother to death or divorce (no one can be sure). He has found a new family in Winters, living in a boarding school. Tony, his best friend, is like his brother, and Maxwell, the dean of students at the boarding school, like his dad. Jeff sits around, being a child prodigy, until he gets the telepathic message from Paula. Jeff eventually reunites with his father, which is a nice way to end such a long mission.

Strengths

Since Jeff is as smart as they get, there is little he can't do. His main pastime: fixing broken stuff and turning it into something that can be used in battle. For instance, he turns a busted harmonica into an offensive beam weapon! Who else but Jeff would have even thought to make the darn thing a weapon?

Weaknesses

Jeff, being such a hands-on person, can't use PSI. This pretty much tells us that you don't have to be smart and figure out how to use PSI -- you're just born with it. Jeff obviously wasn't born with this wonderful ability, but it doesn't take away from his fighting skills much.

All-Around

Jeff's inability to use PSI is made up for by his ability to make weapons of his own. Since he can customize weapons for himself, that makes them all the more effective against enemies. He can also make things like defense showers, which boosts the defense of the group, and HP Suckers, which suck hit points from enemies and add them to his own. He is the only one in the group who can spy on enemies, telling you their statistics and vulnerabilities. Who needs PSI when you got all these rockin gadgets?

Poo: Mysterious Prince from the East

Poo is a unique character in many ways. First of all, he's a prince in some far away country. Secondly, he can't eat regular foods (they won't do him any good). He also can replenish his PSI Points by drinking water! Poo is a real ladies-man back in Dalaam, his hometown. Poo has a mysterious friend, and old man with a cane, who appears to be the master of PSI. This old man taught Poo both of his StarStorm attacks, two of the deadliest in the game. Being the prince, he had to learn all the other skills by going to the place of 'Mu'. He'll soon inherit the land from his wise father, who taught him most of what he knows.

Strengths

Poo appears to be the most stable of the group. He is on a higher plane, in terms of emotional state. He has amazing concentration skills, and is a very quick learner. The old man teaches Poo to use one of the most impressive PSI skills in all the game: PSI StarStorm. The omega attack inflicts great amounts of damage upon all the enemies, and puts on quite a show in the meantime ;) Poo has many advanced PSI powers, including a power shield which absorbs (and reflects) physical enemy attacks. His PSI Healing powers are matched by no one, not even Ness.

Weaknesses

Poo has an impediment that is very hard to get used to: he can get no more than 6 hit points from any kind of food, except for the brain food lunch. Poo can only replenish hit points by using PSI Lifeup or eating one heck of a lot of food. Many a time, players have given Poo an expensive piece of food, and only realized too late that it does him no good. Another problem is that Poo can't use equipment unless it is dubbed fit for a king (literally). Poo can only use 4 weapons/defensive items in the whole game, and they can't be bought at any shops. Good luck--they're hard to obtain!

All-Around

Poo has the best combination of PSI skills and offensive powers (he is awesome when he gets the Sword of Kings). His superior concentration skills allow him to use a skill called 'Mirror'. Poo concentrates, and then turns into the selected enemy! He gains most of the traits of the enemy (including the appearance, so he won't get attacked ). The mirror option doesn't always work, because even Poo can't turn into enemies like Giygas. Poo also is the first to learn to use PSI Teleport , one of the most useful PSI skills that isn't used in battle.
