Why you should NEVER run a reality show

When I first started moonside.net survivor, I honestly didn't know what to expect. All I wanted to do is get 18 people together in a chatroom and have fun, one night of the week, however, as Murphy once said... "Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong." So, with my limitless experience in this issue, I am going to list the top ten reasons why you should NOT run a reality show online.

10 - Absentees. I came into this game hoping I could get all 18 people to show up, but then I realized that this would never happen. I think the record attendance was 15/18 in survivor 2, but I may have been wrong.

9 - Prizes. If you're running a show, for the love of god don't try to give out prizes, because it JUST WILL NOT WORK. Out of all the people who have played, only one winner has actually wanted to claim their prize. (I KNOW, I KNOW, BLOOP LEAVE ME ALONE I'LL DO IT LATER)

8 - The time. It doesn't matter WHEN you hold it, any time you pick to run your game will be bad for atleast one person. Deal with it.

7 - Contestants will assume they know more than you. While this is probably true in my case, it's unfair when they insult you because they lose in a challenge. Expect to get your ego hurt.

6 - Contestants will complain every challenge, even though they usually have no basis behind them. While this became more prevalent in Clash of the Titans, contestants will whine, bicker and nag about every challenge that doesn't go their way. Most of the time they have no basis behind the complaints aside from not wanting to lose.

5 - Contestants will assume you have nothing better to do than run the show. I don't know how many times I've said it, but I run these games out of the goodness of my heart. I don't need to run the game, it's not a requirement of anything. Contestants should know (and this goes to all you clashers,) that they have no say in any of the challenges and how they're run. They're free to point out any errors that are made, but are not allowed to complain about the quality of the challenge.

4 - The first episode. It doesn't matter how well you prepare, the first episode sucks.

3 - The challenges. You may think this is a bit over-the-top, but there aren't many games you can play easily over IRC. There are like three, all of which suck.

2 - Preparation. You will NEVER be prepared for everything that will happen in the game. You may think you can expect anything, but whatever can go wrong will go wrong.

1 - Cyan683. He complains about everything.

That's the top ten reasons, I hope you enjoyed my little rant.

P.S. Cyan: I'm joking. I just couldn't think of a witty #1 answer.
