The cactus wolf is a strange hybrid, built to stalk and guard unfettered and unfatigued in the burning sun of the desert. The waxy cacti keep it hydrated and cool, the canine components keep it well fed. Truly a fearsome beast, it stalks its quarry through the desert - tormenting them until they drop. A memento mori of the bare mortality evident in the desert wastes.

Hey Deluxe! Or as the kids down here would say, "Dude!" I hope this postcard finds you well! We really miss you down here, but I hear you've been promoted to the Stonehenge position! I've waited until this page to talk about environment malleability. The art style allows me to bend the world to the story's emotional whim. It is subtle, but it gives me that freedom.

Here's that focal mechanism again. The sun is important to this story, it often sets an unstated mood. But look in the background, a kid will make the connection between it being there now, and somewhere else on a later page. It marks that arrow lizard as something Bushie will interact with.
