FOOD ITEMS - Basic Tutorial Hello, I'm Radiation, and I'll be your host today on COOKING WITH NERDS. Today we'll be teaching you how to cook a generic food item. ONE GENERIC ITEM ONE(1) PKHACK .2 OR HIGHER ONE(1) EARTHBOUND ROM A(A) BRAIN Okay, friends,* let's begin. First of all, take PKHACK and select Items from the menu. Now, click on the Item Editor. I'll show you all the stuff you can change. --- Name: Change the name. Don't make it too long or the evil hacking genies will lash out at you. This will change the name for various text blocks, too, but if this item is referenced directly without a control code, it'll just have the same text, so WATCHIT! Effect: Don't change the effect unless you want to make a large-pizza-esque item. It should be at 249. Cost: How much the food costs in a shop. You can sell it for half the price, but if the price is zero than you can't sell it. OR DROP IT. Type: Change only if you want to make it an edible liquid. (36) Edible liquids are like normal foods, except condiments aren't put on them. Recovery Type: 0 = HP recovery. 1 = PP Recovery. 2 = BRAIN FOOD LUNCH. All the others are self explanatory and raise your stats by 1 (2 for condiment, and 3 for awesome condiment.) Poo Increase: Since Poo is a crazy-man type, he can't eat anything. Alter this to change how much HP/PP he gains from eating some stuff. The formula for HP gain is (recovery) x 6 = HP recovered. PP RECOVERY IS (Recovery) = PP RECOVERED. Increase: This is for all you other guys. If you chose 0 for recovery type, it recovers x6 HP the amount you put in. If you chose 1 for the recovery type, it recovers PP equal to the amount you put in. And finally, if you're a nut and chose 2, it recovers that much PP AND x6 that much HP. This is why the BFL recovers 50 PP and 300 HP. (six times fifty.) Skip Sandwich Effect Time: Use this to set how many frames you'll run faster than normal. I'm pretty sure it's as long as the [10 XX] code, but I could be mistaken. Help Text: The address of the help text. If you're making a hack, change this. It really stinks to get a new item, click help, and have it say ("Banana" Recovers 20 HP) when you're making a Hamburger. Who Can Use?: When someone tries to use an item and their box is not checked, they can't use it. If you have a healer type character that can only use healing items, that would be cool, but remember you can target everyone with the item so making a dog who could use dog food would not work unless the dog was POO. Misc. Options: All of these are a very bad idea to check, unless you're making a Fresh Egg item and check "Chicken." Infinite use is bad, because the people who use the item will be able to max out their HP/PP by using it over and over. Disallow give... uh, this one's up to you for usage. Unknown is unknown. If you seriously screwed up, hit Close, but only use it as a last resort. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you switch to another Food Item without applying changes, you'll lose all changes you made.
