Hello! Posting on behalf of Mortis Ghost and his team “Unproductive Fun Time”, I present you the creepy-weird, RPGmaker 2003-created game “OFF”!
Originally in French with only a handful of English resources, a part of the Reconstructed Game Team (including myself) have spent their summer break translating this gem to English to make it available to a wider public.
In “OFF” you take control of a mysterious person called “The Batter”, who is described to be on an important mission. The Batter, and yourself as his controller, are dropped off in zone 0, the first of 4 zones in a perplexing, unknown world about which you slowly find out more and more in the process of the game.
“OFF” has been praised and known as an insider’s tip among French gamers for its strong story, great characters and incredible atmosphere. Although a couple of bugfixes were necessary to enable the game to work more smoothly, I strongly agree with these opinions.
But without further ado, have some screenshots and info!
THE BATTER
The mysterious, taciturn hero of this game appears as a man in a baseball batter’s attire and equipment. He has been assigned to a sacred, righteous mission, and only you, the player, can make him accomplish it.

THE JUDGE
This Cheshire cat-like feline and sole inhabitant of zone 0 talks and acts in a sickeningly overblown, Oxford-professor like manner, and puts high interest and hopes into the Batter’s and your own mission, repeatedly lending you his helping paw and cryptic advice.

ZACHARIE
The one and only “traditional items merchant” of this game, the masked man Zacharie, uses many opportunities to taunt you and the Batter throughout your mission while also aiding you in the form of advice and useful items, repeatedly breaking the fourth-wall to pieces in the process. Aside from that, he’s friendly and not that bad of a guy for a video game character.

About the translation; though it’s now out of Beta it’s still possible that it contains a few bugs, typos or larger mistakes (since English isn’t my mother tongue and I only had help from a native speaker in part). If you find any glaring mistakes, post about them in this thread or send me a PM.
Please do not post any spoiler and/or endgame content outside of a spoiler tag. This game is best enjoyed spoiler-free. If you find bugs or mistakes at important plot points, I’d appreciate you telling me by PM ONLY, for the sake of others’ experience.

NOTE: Before playing, locate the font files inside the “OFF” zip-file and install them to your system; otherwise the game’s text might be difficult to read.
(It is however not recommended to open any folders inside the “OFF” folder iteself (like “Facesets”), as they contain spoiler material.)
NOTE: It is possible to transfer your saves from one version to another by simply locating the “.lsd” files inside your OFF folder. HOWEVER: Saves that were done after a boss will, for one reason or another, NOT WORK ON OTHER VERSIONS THAN THE ONE THEY WERE MADE ON. If you wish to transfer a save where you’ve played until after a boss, continue to the next zone’s red cube before proceeding to transfer.

(Please note that the Mac wrapper used for this version was not created by us, but by zchr. Please contact him if you run into any issues.)
I hope you’ll enjoy this game as much as I enjoyed it before deciding to translate it.
EDIT: For all the music lovers out there, here is OFF’s original soundtrack, extended length! Downlaod AFTER completing the game advised (oh and also the tune “Rainy Day” isn’t inside the RAR folder, but replaced with a renamed copy of “Desperately Safe”, for some reason. Download it separately!) .
EDIT: Additionally, for our French speaking friends, the original, untranslated game. Please note that a few bugs haven’t been fixed in it.

Exactly what it says on the skin.
See? Got it tatooed right there.
There’s an OFF-translation-shaped hole where my brain should be.
