This thread is aimed at the French speakers on this forum.
As you probably already know, MOTHER/EarthBound Beginnings has already been translated into French in 2006 by a small team.
The effort that has been done is titanic and we want to highlight it. However, we are forced to notice that this translation is far from being perfect. It is way too literal, sometimes a bit awkward and there are still many spelling mistakes.
So, with a very talented friend named Gashomy, we decided to create a new translation of the game, more faithful to the script, but also with our little touch of humor that gives MOTHER games their charm.
For the occasion, we have created a website in which we detail some aspects of the process!

Salut à tous !
Ce thread est plus destiné aux francophones sur ce forum.
Comme vous devez sûrement déjà le savoir, MOTHER/EarthBound Beginnings a déjà été traduit en français en 2006 par une petite équipe.
L’effort qui a été réalisé est titanesque et nous souhaitons le souligner. Seulement, nous sommes forcés de constater que cette traduction est loin d’être parfaite. Elle est bien trop littérale, parfois un peu bancale et il subsiste de nombreuses fautes d’orthographe.
C’est ainsi qu’avec un très talentueux ami nommé Gashomy, nous avons décidé d’établir à nouveau une traduction du jeu, plus fidèle au script, mais aussi à laquelle nous ajoutons notre petite touche d’humour qui donne tout son charme aux jeux MOTHER.
Nous avons pour l’occasion réalisé un site internet dans lequel nous détaillons quelques aspects de notre démarche !
