Not according to a very significant component of Brawl conventional wisdom, which held that Sakurai would not be using Japan-only characters period. (Case in point: GameFAQspot, whose Rate-their-Chances Brawl-board activity gave Lucas a 36% aggregate chance of being playable - anywhere from 6% to 15% behind confirmed ATs/Pokéball helpers Lyn, Deoxys, Gardevoir, Samurai Goroh, Meowth and Little Mac.) And seriously, who would expect such huge spoilers (i.e. NPC) to be in SSBB at all? There are so many other potentially great stages to pick from Mother 3: why pick the spoileriest one?

Yes that's what he said, but the Brawl conventional wisdom, which is what I was talking about, twisted "Smash is popular worldwide now, so I can't use just characters popular in Japan, but then again it worked for Fire Emblem" into "Only characters who have been released worldwide!".

Not to join the people quick to jump on ideas inconsistant with their own, but I guess it could be said that anyone could've predicted it. Just like anyone could've predicted the chicago fire, 9/11, pearl harbor, ect ect. It's possible.

Possible, but extremely unlikely, seeing as how both "predictions" were confirmed by the Dojo, and reidman, Tomato and the others have no reason to put their trust in jeopardy by taking a risky stab at what M3 elements will be in SSBB.
I'm a bit taken aback by the "name change" for the character, though. It's somewhat jarring after all this time, and I see no reason why they can't translate it "to English" for the US version. "I don't think he needs to be rich or famous, but I want him to be a thoughtful, strong boy." |

*He* will depend on Wario's greed to turn all the heroes into trophies, then *He* will steal them all from Wario and turn them all over to the Emissary, gaining their trust. Afterwards, *He* will release the heroes and claim he freed them, sending them on a mission to take down the Emissary. After the heroes defeat the guy in charge of the Emissary, *He* will reappear and grab the ultimate power : Subspace, and end up being the final boss of the game.

Most likely a boss or an assist trophy, but I wouldn't mind seeing him playable... Even though the chances of that are pretty much null. Who knows.
