My “challenge” thus far has been to catch up after starting yesterday. Oh, and to make it to Spekkio while he’s still a frog (I never knew!) I’m almost through the factory and I’m still under level 9… so here’s hoping!

I am pumped that I figured out the technique independently! The only sad part is that I was too lazy to keep at it….

Oh, sorry, I meant the ‘moving left and right’ thing. I definitely would never have gotten to that point without you telling me about the camera!

I haven’t been doing the challenges because I’ve been scrambling to catch up. Finally did yesterday, so we’ll see how the challenges go. Oddly enough, I’ve actually done two of the ones fro Day 8 before, back when I first played the game back in the SNES days. I didn’t know Slash could be used the way it’s supposed to be, and I’m pretty sure I hiked that mountain without Lucca more than once.

Though, I totally didn’t know you could fight Nu’s in the Cursed Forest. I thought they just kinda showed up for decoration…

I have a number of global challenges I’m trying to do. First, I’m using an altered rom. The enemies give 1/2 exp and 1/3 gold, and all healing items have increased cost. I’m not using any inns/shelters/enertrons. I’m playing with the game on active battle instead of wait (this is actually my first time doing that.) I also will not sell any items for money. Finally, I’m having Crono use the wood sword the entire game, until the point where the mop becomes available, when I will then switch to that. I’m adhering to these challenges all the time, and then I try and do the additional challenges for each GPP if I am able.

Also, I spent 4 1/2 hours grinding silver points on the first day of this event to get 11 cats.

I’m gonna kill Lavos in Ocean Palace.

O.k., I got an original one. I’ll beat Lavos on the 22nd, before the last day of the Fanfest, then do a speed run where I’ll try to beat it in (10 minutes x challenges I’ve completed) – (3min x Challenges I missed) My current score is 51/62, so thats a little under 8 hours at that, dunno what itll be after the end. My friend’s record is 9 Hours.

What do you guys think of that?
