MOTHER 1+2 is a compilation of MOTHER 1 (EarthBound 0) and MOTHER 2 (EarthBound) that was released in Japan for Nintendo's Game Boy Advance during the summer of 2003. No official word has come from Nintendo regarding whether or not this special two-game cartridge will be localized and brought to gamers outside of Japan, but there's been much speculation ever since news about its Japanese release was first announced.
The games themselves are unaltered versions of their originals for the most part. Graphical changes had to be made to make them fit the Game Boy Advance's smaller screen size, but no other major changes were made. The music quality in the GBA MOTHER 2 isn't quite as good as it was in its Super Famicom/Super NES counterpart, but it's still very close and very enjoyable. MOTHER 1 is a little bit different here and there in comparison to the Famicom version. For more information on that, check out the differences page.
