Stone of Original Sin - by Elobo

Students have approached me and asked why Gargoyles and Rockgoyles are so different. This scroll illustrates a local legend. Both Rockgoyle and Gargoyle were hewn from the Stone of Origin. But the Rockgoyle chose to stay near the Stone taking its power inwards, while the Gargoyle chose to journey from the stone, bringing its power outwards. As such, the Rockgoyle became like stone - cold, stoic, sedentary, and steadfast in its abilities. The Gargoyle became like magma - burning with terrible power, aggressive, and able to bring the influence of the Stone of Origin new places. One cannot exist without the other. Both cut from the same earth.

Elobo	Death Throes in the Depths	An interesting scroll depicts creatures we long thought extinct or mere myth. In the depths there are two mortal enemies in the Carbon Dogs and Chomposaurs. Though they are bitter foes, the dogs tend to avoid conflict. But the cruel Chomopsaurs will massacre young dogs whenever possible. The alpha of the pack assumes the strange power of the Diamond Dog in its rage and sorrow, and a mortal battle begins. A rolling maelstrom of tooth and claw... fire and earth. Titans locked in mortal combat. The diamond teeth sink into the great serpents neck as stamina gives way and its body slowly and painfully turns to mineral. It thrashes for all its worth in a final attempt to make sure the fight would have no survivors.	5/18/09

Vicious mental torture meant to twist the individual. They could do it instantly, without struggle. But then, they wouldn't enjoy it.	2/7/10

Elobo	Desperation	Our consciousness streams inwards, crushing itself. Our mind barely has strength enough to stitch this world together anymore. It tears apart at the seam. The dark recesses of our mind bleed through. Nightmare tendrils reach down to strangle the colour from our form. We grew overconfident, riding high on the devastation of the guardians. But now, we are simply alone on a pile of battered corpses, they have no more energy to give. Our courage has been rent in twain again and again, and we simply do not have the fortitude for it anymore. All that is left is Desperation. All that is left is to blindly flail at the encroaching nightmares while we cling desperately to the decadence of our memories of former conquest. But we are alone now, courage left us a long time ago.	8/18/09
