The Mani Mani Statue

The Mani Mani is said to be the embodiment of pure evil, which is why I have come up with this conjecture. Giygas wanted to project his presence into the world of Ness and friends, so he projected himself into a statue, the Mani Mani. Giygas chose to put his entity into the Mani Mani rather than some other object because he knew the Mani Mani was a very valuable item and its rarity would cause it to be passed about the weak and greedy. The statue was also of interest to Giygas because he knew the statue was about to be discovered near the house of the only that had the potential to destroy him.

Giygas planned to use the statue to his advantage by possessing those who had possessed, or come in close contact with the evil Mani Mani. The statue possessed those nearby to attack Ness and his friends, because Giygas thought he could use the people to get the threat of Ness out of his way, but he underestimated Ness. Ness beat Everdred and Carpainter and Monotoli's minions and even Pokey who were possessed by the evilness of the statue. Ness of course wound up defeating Giygas and obliterating the Mani Mani so it could never be used for evil again.
