Eagleland on the cheap
Any traveler to Eagleland can tell you that the hotels are cheaper in Onett than in Twoson. They can also tell you that the best cafe is in Fourside (if you don't mind the seedy patrons). Sure, the sandy beaches of Summers are nice and the alpine splender of Winters is a joy, but it can be rather expensive. So how is a traveler supposed to know when they aren't taken for a tourist ride? That is where this handy guide comes in.
Finding a room. The most common travel expenditure outside of meals is boarding. Unfortunately, there are no low cost hostels or reasonable B&Bs in Onett. Fortunately, for those with a little time and effort can save up for their own lakeside home in Onett quickly. The most straight forward method is to make contacts. Parents, friends, and even defeated enemies may lend out their homes or talents to heal you weary travelers. Ness's mom is more than willing to let you spend a night and a special meal and Frank will care for your wounds will you stay in Onett. Look for deals like the hotel of Saturn Valley. A more time consuming method is to look for magical butterflies. They tend to hang around certain places and at the outskirts of cities. Use your healing power to raise your HP and find a butterfly or two to keep up the PP.

You are what you eat, you know, and you are cheap, so eat cheap. Certainly you aren't below opening strange presents or raiding trashcans for food are you? Don't forget to find food like those delicious (and free!) magic truffles. If you absolutely need a wholesome snack, visit Saturn Valley. The Peanut Cheese bars are wonderful despite the name and are very reasonable compared to all the nutritious value you get. Also, let your food work for you. Get a fresh egg and keep it. If you experience homesickness (almost all travelers do) check the chick, otherwise hatch a chicken and sell it for a great price.
