Ok, let's get one thing straight here. There has been a lot of arguements over who Ness' dad is. Along with Jeff. Now, many people refuse to believe this theory for some reason. Many other people have used this theory as well. Simple mathematics will determine that Ninten and Ana could not give birth to Ness, and Loid could not father Jeff.
Let's start with figuring out what happens when. In the early 1900's, George and Maria (Ninten's GREAT GRANDPARENTS) were kidnapped by aliens. Namely Giegue and some other people. Now, 2 years later, George returned, while Maria was sealed in Magicant. 80 years pass, bringing us to Ninten's adventure. According to the beginning of Mother, Ninten's adventure happens in 1988. Also, according to the Japanese manual for Mother, Ninten is 12 years old. Ana and Loid's ages are NOT given, but it s assumed that Ana is 11 or 12. Loid attends and elementary school, so the oldest he can be is 12 (seeing as he wasen't held back.). Now, EarthBound takes place in 199X, which can be anywhere between 1990 and 1999. Let's assume it takes place in 1999. In Mother 2, Ness is 12 or 13 (I know he is NOT 11). Paula and Jeff fall around the same age, and Poo is a little older. Let's not forget that we never see Ness' dad. I believe that he just works alot. Reason why he does is because that's how Itoi was and didn't see his family much. Now, the earliest Ninten and/or Ana could have Ness would be RIGHT AFTER the adventure. So, let's say Ness was born in 1988. His adventure takes place in 1999. 99-88 = 11. Ness would be 11 during M2. Which is NOT the case. Same with Loid. We know for a FACT that Jeff is over 10 (quote from Dr. Andonuts: It's been 10 years since I last saw you) years old. It states that he is the same age as Ness, which is 12 or 13. Simple Math yet again.
I'm going to hope that this clears up most of the problems with the parenting. For your enjoyment, I made a timeline.
