Perpetual Pariah

Explorers in the Agrilla Pass are often beset by a strange creature of palpable self-loathing. The oral tradition of Agrillan survivor descendants mentions a creature composed of the negative energies the civil war and slaughter left deep-rooted in the land. A creature of anger was born as spirits who could not find a host, and were bound eternal to that cursed place, coalesced at one point. At first it was furious that it could not leave the Pass to fulfill its desires. Then, the contrasting points of sorrow of the many that made the whole caused self-doubt withi the creature. The more it tried to leave, the more impotent it felt. It felt more and more helpless, more and more anguish. Years of isolation made it a wreck of pure emotion. An empath feeding of the negativity of others, welcoming all pain they bring. It is irreproachably twisted into feeling pathetic and it is cursed to remain that way forever. Even though it accepts defeat, the pull of the land is too strong – it comes back. But the words is speaks… are these its own or is it reflecting your innermost sorrow and fear? Is it merely giving your most crushing emotions form?

Elobo The Window at Freshmart
This is the window of a Freshmart located in Ingonish, Nova Scotia. Don't shop there guys, everything costs double to take advantage of tourists. But the window caught my eye because it the 'seagull' looked an awful lot like a Mad Duck. So we can imagine the person watching is a young Tessie Watcher. Forum user daxxglax wondered if the golfer was Picky - certainly could be! Also, Loid is out riding bikes. The last panel on the left is a tricky one - it's either Minnie walking Ninten's Dog, or the Dog Possesed by the Spirit of the Game Designer picking up chicks in the park. Alright, I guess that one's pushing it ;).

Elobo The Daily Grind
Nothing exciting ever happens here. Sure, Ruffini's spirit medium skills were fun... for maybe a month. But who wants to know you're just part of a game? Who wants your mortality and lack of autonomy spelled out for you by a little white dog? It's sobering, it's humbling. It's depressing. And I know I'm doomed to stand here every day selling the same old stuff to the same four kids because that's my lot in life and I know it and I hate it. I just can't wait to go home and sleep and dream of a world where I'm the master of my destiny. Ha, not even that. Nighttime is just a convenient illusion for the "player."

Elobo The Trial that Divided Twoson
I know kidnapping is wrong, I know it. I always try to be careful not to kidnap anyone. But... it's not as easy as it sounds... I was just heading to Burglin Park for some seasonings to add to my food at meal times – I collect the cute little packets and jars, you know. But have you ever been in a crowded park before? It's like the first day at work on a new diet, and someone's brought a box of your favourite doughnuts. Before I knew it, I had taken three hostages and was getting my ransom letter notarized. That's how they caught me, you know.

Not all lessons in the pack cover tooth and viscera. Their devotion to each other is strong enough to break even the oldest into their earliest habits for the benefit of the youngest. Families hunt together, and they play together.

Elobo Worshiped Idol
Oral tradition tells of two tribes in Agrilla. Two tribes born of the same sun. They lived and worked in peace. One tribe began to worship an unseen pantheon. Massive stone idols were erected in their honour. The worshiping tribe grew vainglorious of their faith and scornful of the other. They were obsessed with the adulation of their pantheon and rapidly consumed the resources of the land for offerings and material to build and move their idols. The other tribe could take no more and slaughtered the worshipers – weak from their exhausting and constant rituals. In spite, they toppled the idols, smashing them in the canyon. The spirits of their enemies were still zealous and bound themselves to the great stone heads of their monoliths. They struggled to move, but crushed their killers. But they could not give chase without toppling, and the remaining Agrillans fled the land to start anew. The idols were left with a taste for blood in a barren land, wailing in anguish over their lost vengeance.
