Earthbound Enemies
When my friends ask me about Earthbound, their first question is usually what I am fighting. In simple games like James Bond or Donkey Kong you're fighting pretty much the same things throughout the game. In Earthbound however, you fight a variety of monsters each from different places. One day I might be in a cave fighting a giant ant and the next I could be fighting the supreme entity of evil known to us as Giygas. Of course, this is much to complicated for my friends so I just give them a few examples. That usually doesn't work either because the supreme weirdness of enemies in Earthbound is just too much for some people. Below I have listed some enemies which me and my friends agree are just too strange.
Retro Hippy: What's up with this enemy? Although the music is cool this enemy should of died back in the seventy's. Also, what kind of enemy uses a toothbrush in battle?
Mole: This enemy is not so strange but the places it can pop up are. The first time you see it, it's be Happy-Happy village. But you can also see it in the desert and the Deep-darkness. Talk about out of your element.
Criminal Caterpillar: This enemy is strange to the core. Although it uses powereful PSI, it will run away from you at any chance it gets. And what exactly is a criminal caterpillar?
Taxis and Signs: This really confused me when I made it to Fourside. I knew Giygas had control over living things but Road signs? Give me a break!
Antoids: One easy way to beat these things is to use your shoe. SQUISH! Hehehehe...
Well that's about it for now. Although there are other strange enemies, I don't have the time to write about them now. Part two might be coming soon.
