The game of Channels is quite simple to understand. The three systems mentioned above use a technology for their music, which consists of 4-8 separate channels that represent one or a number of instruments for in-game music. Plug-ins for WinAMP support muting many channels at a time.

The object of the game, of course, is to correctly guess which game the song comes from, with the success of guessing correctly before all channels have been unmuted being a badge of honor or nerdiness, depending on who you talk to. A specific number of wins will get you actual badges on the forum, denoting, in increments of five, how many times you've won.
